Marooned in the Maldives | Fashion Me Now

What to do when those tropical storms roll in over the atolls? Well once you’ve rinsed the DVD library, the only option it to retreat to the spa, and when the spa’s as dreamy as Conrad Rangali’s you really wouldn’t want to be anywhere else, rain or shine.
On top of the incredible massage I had, I also went for a couple of alternative therapies while the rain poured down outside. From an hour of relaxing Reiki to a more specialised introduction to iridology (the study of the individual eye structure), I loved how Conrad’s spa had a real holistic twist. I’ve been a huge fan of reflexology and reiki since my teens (it helped me get over post-viral fatigue once upon a time) so it was great finding a sanctuary in the storm that really believed in these kind of treatments. If you really need a wellness overhaul, they can assess your entire wellbeing and offer homeopathic remedies and dietary suggestions to help you get back to your best self. Something I’m already craving now I’m back in the throes on January stress and tax return hell… Ugh.
Another adventure worth taking is heading down into the undersea restaurant at cocktail hour to see into the reef without getting wet. We didn’t make it for dinner down there but it was fun taking a moment to feel like a kid at Seaworld all over again…
Once the rain passed and the wind settled, it was time to hot foot it straight back to the beach and lounge around on our private deck doing what I do best; very little with a book in hand.
