Planning your trip

  • There is NO mandatory quarantine on arrival to the Maldives. For non-tourist visitors travelling to an inhabited island, you are required to undergo self-quarantine of 14 days upon arrival at the island.
  • Effective 5th March 2022, passengers entering into the Maldives are NO LONGER required to present a Negative PCR test result upon arrival if the individual(s) have completed the prescribed dose(s) of a Covid-19 vaccine approved by the Maldives Food & Drug Authority or WHO Emergency Use Listing (EUL) and at least 14 days have passed since. (Booster dose(s) are not required to be eligible for this exemption).
  • Please note that upon arrival into the Maldives, those who exhibit Covid-19 symptoms will have to undergo a PCR test. If you are travelling in a group, all members of the group must undergo testing.
  • The guideline published by the Ministry of Tourism in coordination with the Health Protection Agency “Public health interventions to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID 19 in the tourism sector” thoroughly details what tourists & tourist establishments should expect and be prepared for under the new normal conditions.
 

Visa Requirements

  • FREE 30-day visa ON-ARRIVAL VISA for ALL TOURISTS.
  • Passport must have at least 1-month validity from the date of your expected departure in the Maldives.
  • A confirmed pre-booking at a registered tourist facility is a pre-requisite for the visa. Up until guesthouse tourist facilities are to be reopened at a later date, a booking is considered valid ONLY for a tourist resort facility, liveaboards, and/or pre-approved transit facilities..
  • Tourist visa extensions will be made available for long-stay tourists without imposition of any further fees.
 

Booking your accommodation

• Tourists are now allowed to stay in multiple tourist resorts and/or tourist guesthouses, or combine both in one stay, given the split-stay procedures are complied with prior to transfer from each tourist facility. ALL inter-island travel procedures will be done on your behalf by the tourist facility.
 

Before your departure to Maldives

  • Ensure that you do not exhibit any symptoms of Covid-19.
  • IF UNVACCINATED, Ensure that you undergo a PCR test for which the sample was taken at most 96 (ninety-six) hours prior to departure from the first point of embarkation en route to Maldives.
  • Kids from Above 5 year if not vaccinated then they need to get RTPCR done
 

What Kind of test will be done before I can travel to my hotel

All tourists will undergo non-intrusive temperature checks and screening on arrival to the Maldives.
You may also be chosen for a random COVID-19 PCR test by Maldivian Health Authorities. This is a voluntary test.
 

Will I have to pay If I get chosen for random testing

No, the Maldives government will bear any cost for random testing.
 

How will I get to my hotel

A representative from your hotel will be at the airport to assist you with the domestic flight or transfer to your hotel.
 

Can I visit different Island while I am here on Holiday?

Please remember to practise good hygiene and handwashing throughout your trip.

  • No other restrictions apply unless the individual has been placed in isolation or quarantine.
